Questions

What people ask us

Do I have to use the shop my insurance company recommends?

No. California Insurance Code §758.5 makes the choice of repair shop legally yours. Your insurer may suggest a shop from its network, but it cannot require you to use one — and it must pay the reasonable cost of repair at the shop you choose. Tell them you are taking your car to F1 Collision Center and we take it from there. If an insurer pressures you about your choice, you can report it to the California Department of Insurance at 800-927-4357.

Do you handle the insurance claim?

Yes. We work directly with your insurer on the estimate, supplements, and paperwork. You make one call to us; we handle the coordination.

What about a rental car?

We arrange the rental car for you. If your policy or the at-fault party's policy includes rental coverage, we coordinate it so you stay on the road while your car is repaired.

Do I still pay my deductible?

If your claim carries a deductible, it is set by your policy and is paid when you pick up your car. If another driver's insurance is paying, there is usually no deductible. We explain exactly what applies before work begins.

How long do repairs take?

It depends on the damage and parts availability. We give you a timeline after inspection, and we keep you updated while your car is in the shop.

Will my insurance pay if I choose my own body shop?

Yes. Under California law, your insurer must pay the reasonable cost of repair at the shop you choose.

Does choosing my own shop raise my deductible or premiums?

No. Your deductible is set by your policy, not by where you repair your car.

Who arranges the rental car?

We do, coordinated with your claim, so you're not making a second set of calls.

What's a supplement?

Additional damage discovered after teardown — common in collision repair. We document it with photos and handle the approval directly with your insurer.

While your car is here

Rental car while your car is in the shop

If your policy — or the at-fault driver's policy — includes rental coverage, we coordinate the rental as part of the claim. You do not make a second set of calls.

Rental coverage is set by your policy, not by us. It usually has a daily limit and a total cap, and those numbers decide what class of car you get and for how long. We will tell you what your coverage actually allows before you are standing at a rental counter.

If you have no rental coverage, say so early. Knowing that changes how we sequence the work.

Your deductible

Your deductible is set by your policy. You pay it when you pick up the car, and it goes to the shop, not to your insurer.

If another driver was at fault and their insurer accepts liability, there is usually no deductible for you to pay at all. If you go through your own collision coverage first, you pay it and your insurer pursues the other carrier — and you are typically reimbursed if they recover.

What happens next

You make one call. We do the rest.

  1. Call or send photos

Tell us what happened. Send pictures of the damage and we reply with a preliminary estimate — usually the same day.

  2. We coordinate

We contact your insurer, send the assignment, handle the estimate and any supplements, and arrange your rental car.

  3. We repair

Certified technicians, documented repair procedures, factory-match paint — and we keep you updated until you drive it home.

  4. You drive

Walk-around inspection with you at pickup. You leave when you're satisfied, not when we're done.

…My car is metallic white, which is a very difficult color to match perfectly — but they absolutely nailed it. The paint match is flawless. It looks completely natural, and you would never be able to tell the car had any damage or repaint done. The finish blends perfectly with the original factory paint. They were extremely professional, very fair with pricing, and most importantly — on time. Everything was completed exactly when they promised. The entire team was friendly, honest, and great to work with. From quality to communication to timing, I'm 100% satisfied. I highly recommend F1 Collision to anyone who wants their car repaired the right way.

Rayan was a great help from start to finish. Brought in my BMW 330i with major damages to the front bumper and front rim. He gave me a great a price for the entire job. He also completed the entire project in less than a week. I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone. Thank you again Rayan for the amazing work.
